Torremolinos, traditionally known for its paradisiacal beaches, is expanding its tourist offerings to establish itself as a comprehensive destination. The mayor, Margarita del Cid, has led initiatives highlighting urban regeneration, sustainability, and cultural innovation.
An emblematic project is the conversion of Casa María Barrabino into an Interpretation Center on Urban, Cultural, and Heritage Regeneration. This center will serve as a reference point for understanding the evolution of Torremolinos and its commitment to sustainability.
"Visionaries of Tourism" Strategy
During the International Tourism Fair (FITUR) 2025, Torremolinos presented the "Visionaries of Tourism" campaign. This initiative highlights the pioneering spirit of the city, which in 2024 recorded 1.15 million visitors and 5.44 million overnight stays.
Highlighted Cultural Events
Torremolinos hosts renowned cultural events, such as the Rockin'Race Jamboree. A 50s and 60s rock&roll festival that attracts thousands of international visitors. The 2025 edition will be held from February 5 to 9, with an expected attendance of 40,000 people.
The city has received the diploma from the Spanish Institute for Tourism Quality and the "Q" for tourism quality for its beaches. Reaffirming its commitment to sustainability and quality in service.
Torremolinos is implementing urban regeneration projects that include the rehabilitation of public spaces and the creation of new tourist facilities. The mayor highlighted the importance of recovering the "visionary spirit" that made the municipality a tourist reference decades ago.

The city is betting on sports tourism with the creation of a nautical base and the organization of events such as the final series of the 2024 Triathlon World Championship. Which caused an economic impact of 44 million euros (48.5 million dollars).
