Tom Cruise Uses His Latest Public Appearance to Pay Tribute to Actor Val Kilmer After His Recent Passing

Before starting to talk about his new movie, Tom Cruise surprised the attendees of CinemaCon 2025 with an emotional statement. In it, Ana de Armas's friend lamented the recent loss of his fellow professional, Val Kilmer:

"I would like to honor a dear friend of mine, Val Kilmer. I can't express how much I admire his work, how grateful and honored I felt when he joined Top Gun and later returned for Top Gun: Maverick."

In fact, it was Tom Cruise himself who insisted that Val Kilmer have a small cameo in Top Gun: Maverick, despite the difficulties speaking due to his throat cancer. According to Forbes magazine, this brief appearance would have caused between 400,000 and 2 million euros for him.

Subsequently, Tom Cruise asked everyone present to share a few minutes of silence with him in honor of his great friend and fellow professional.
