CaixaBank facilitates the use of its ATMs for blind people throughout Spain

In a world where digitalization is rapidly advancing, ensuring that all customers can access banking services is a priority. Therefore, CaixaBank has taken another step in this direction. The bank has reminded that its ATMs are adapted for blind or visually impaired people.

Although this functionality is not new, it is key for thousands of users in Spain. They depend on it to operate with autonomy and security.

CaixaBank bets on more accessible ATMs for everyone

The accessible menu of CaixaBank's ATMs offers guided operations with clear and concise instructions. The screens present minimal text, with larger font size and high contrast to facilitate reading. Additionally, all options are complemented with audio messages that guide the user during the operation.

To access this adapted menu, the procedure is simple. Before inserting the card or passbook, the user must press the "2" key on the ATM and then press "2" four more times. This process activates an interface specifically designed for visually impaired people.

Since 2006, CaixaBank has been working on adapting its ATMs to achieve the highest level of accessibility. The entity adhered to the proposed ATM accessibility regulations made by the Barcelona Digital Foundation. This way, it implemented improvements such as high contrast, informative videos in sign language, and voice-guided options.

Beyond ATMs: accessibility in all services

CaixaBank's commitment to accessibility extends beyond its ATMs. The entity has implemented measures in its offices, such as the elimination of architectural barriers to facilitate access for people with reduced mobility.

Additionally, its digital platforms, including the website and mobile applications, comply with the recommendations of the Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI). Thus, they ensure that they are usable by people with different types of disabilities.

With these initiatives, CaixaBank demonstrates its commitment to inclusion and accessibility, ensuring that all its customers, regardless of their abilities, can access and use its services autonomously and safely. The entity continues to work to eliminate barriers and offer solutions that facilitate the lives of all people in Spain.
