Since Ruth Lorenzo debuted as a host, her growth in this role has been remarkable. Although she admits she is not "a typical host," her experience as an artist has given her a unique advantage in facing the challenges of being in front of the cameras.

Lorenzo confessed that Eurovisión Junior was her "trial by fire" as a host. Despite feeling out of her element at that time, she managed to come through thanks to her experience in the artistic world.

"I have an artistic background that doesn't make me so nervous. I have pre-show nerves, but when it's time to do it, I forget and do it," she confessed. This mix of professionalism and authenticity has been key to her success.

Her career includes notable projects like Cover Night and El Piano, where she demonstrated an innate ability to connect with the audience. Now, sharing the hosting of the Benidorm Fest 2025 alongside Paula Vázquez and Inés Hernand, Ruth is at her best as a communicator.

While serving as a host, Ruth assures that she has some contact with some contestants. "I have contact with some, even from before, who told me they were going to participate. My advice is always available to anyone who wants to ask me," she pointed out.

Additionally, she has also taken the opportunity to give them advice, explaining that in these cases a good song is not enough. "In a live performance, your act doesn't depend on your voice or what you do, but on whether a camera catches you or a firework goes off..." she explained.

To conclude, she also advises them to live in the moment. "Be true to themselves and enjoy. In the end, if you enjoy, you give your best. And you have to take away a great memory," Lorenzo concluded.

Expectations and reflections of Ruth Lorenzo on the Benidorm Fest

In the interview, Ruth Lorenzo shared her thoughts on what it means to participate in an event of this magnitude. The host clarified that to stand out in a contest like the Benidorm Fest, and especially in Eurovisión, authenticity and quality are essential. "The artist has to make the song that represents themselves," she stated.

However, Lorenzo hasn't stopped being critical when something doesn't convince her. In this edition of the Benidorm Fest, she highlighted that the musical proposals lack the variety that characterized the contest in its early days.

"While there are different melodies, I see it quite pop and urban this year," she commented. Despite these observations, her role as a host leads her to maintain a neutral and professional stance.

When asked about the artists of this edition, Lorenzo mentioned some names that have caught her attention. For example, J KBello, whom she met on Cover Night, and Kuve, a band with which she has had a personal connection for years. She also expressed her admiration for La Casa de Celine Van Heel, calling it the most original proposal of this year.

Finally, Ruth Lorenzo didn't rule out returning to Eurovisión in the future, but under specific conditions. "I've always said that I would return to Eurovisión if I'm needed someday. I'm ready, but going through a pre-selection... Ufff, I'm not up for that," she confessed.

Ruth Lorenzo continues to demonstrate her versatility and talent both on stage and in front of the cameras. In the Benidorm Fest, her authenticity and experience not only enrich the contest but also inspire a new generation of artists.
