They reveal the rules King Felipe has set inside Zarzuela Palace
The husband of Queen Letizia has chosen to set very strict guidelines for all his employees
King Felipe is once again in the media spotlight, but this time not for controversial or institutional reasons, but because of a revelation that has surprised many. Strict rules that he has imposed inside Palacio de la Zarzuela have been revealed.
These are a series of internal guidelines that all workers at the site are required to follow without exception. Felipe has done this in an attempt to ensure the highest level of professionalism, discretion, and institutional commitment.

King Felipe decides to act and revolutionizes Palacio de la Zarzuela
Since his accession to the throne, King Felipe has been clear that his reign should be different from that of his father, Juan Carlos I, which in recent years has been marked by various scandals. For this reason, he has worked meticulously to build a new model of monarchy, focused on exemplary conduct, transparency, and respect for the institution. Much of that change has started with what happens behind closed doors at Palacio de la Zarzuela.
To achieve this, one of his first actions was to redefine the code of conduct that governs the place. Yes, the nerve center of the Royal Family and the place where tradition and power coexist.
Regarding this measure, María José Gómez Verdú, an expert in protocol and institutional behavior, has now spoken to Lecturas. She has indicated that Felipe has implemented a strict set of rules that applies to all workers: from kitchen staff to advisers, drivers, agenda chiefs, or bodyguards. In her words, "there's no room for spontaneity at Zarzuela."
These are not informal rules or suggestions. It is a genuine internal regulation that clearly defines what is expected of each team member. She stated, "All workers must submit to clear rules, marked by ethics, discretion, and a sense of duty."
"Loyalty is no longer enough. The logic of tacit privilege is over. Now, integrity, transparency, and irreproachable professionalism are required."

Some of the curious rules imposed by King Felipe
The aforementioned expert has thus revealed some of the curious rules that Zarzuela workers must comply with following King Felipe's stance. Specifically, she revealed, "The use of social media is absolutely forbidden: no selfies, no off-the-record comments, no personal descriptions of what happens behind closed doors."
"It is not permitted to talk about what the royals eat, how they address their daughters, or their private life. The boundary between the public and the institutional is impassable."

All these and many others clearly show King Felipe's purpose. According to Verdú, "this paradigm shift has restored the monarchy's institutional strength. It no longer operates from privilege, but from duty, and that has restored trust, not just tradition."
The revelations about the rules imposed by King Felipe at Zarzuela are surprising, and they show a deep transformation in the way the exercise of the head of state is understood. He has shown that the Crown can no longer be an informal space, but a demanding, exemplary institution fully committed to public service.
To achieve this, speeches or gestures for show are not enough. Internal work, rigor, and discipline are needed. That is exactly what now governs inside the palace under his leadership.
