'The rains this Wednesday...': Roberto Brasero issues an urgent warning to these areas

Several territories in Spain are expected to be affected by the rains brought by Ivo today.

This Wednesday, Spain faces another episode of instability with the arrival of storm Ivo. It promises to leave a day marked by wind, rain, and snow in the mountains. Roberto Brasero has confirmed this, warning that this system will affect the country between today and tomorrow with adverse conditions in many regions.

Ivo has arrived from the Atlantic, following the same path as storm Herminia, almost along the same route and with similar effects. However, this time, the coastal storm could be less severe. Warnings will remain at the orange level, not reaching the red level that Herminia caused.

Heavy rains: Roberto Brasero says where

Rainfall will once again be prominent in several parts of the country, especially in the western area. According to Roberto Brasero's forecasts, this Wednesday the rains may be abundant in the west of the Central system and in Galicia. There, they are expected to be locally strong and joined by storms.

Significant rains are also expected in the Strait. In the rest of the western half and the central area, the rainfall will be more irregular. Meanwhile, in the Mediterranean area, the probability of rain is low, but the wind will be noticeable, with gusts that can reach significant intensities.

Roberto Brasero, excited: the rains fill the reservoirs

The rains of the last week have increased water reserves by 2.3% compared to last Tuesday, says Roberto Brasero. Currently, the reservoirs are at 54.3% of their capacity. A level higher than recorded in the same period last year and the average of the last ten years.

In total, the reservoirs have added 1,293 cubic hectometers more of water. This increase is one of the consequences of the succession of storms that have affected the country in recent days, a streak that could come to an end tomorrow. Ivo could be the last episode of this cycle of chained fronts.

Outlook for the coming days

The storm Ivo that Roberto Brasero announces for today will continue to affect Spain during Thursday, although with a tendency to gradually lose intensity. However, the effects of this meteorological episode could be prolonged, leaving instability in some areas until the end of the week.

The population is advised to stay informed of official weather warnings and to take precautions. Especially in areas affected by heavy rain, snow, and strong wind gusts.
