Charles III and Camilla's Best-Kept Secret Revealed: William and Harry are Stunned
The Royal Marriage formed by King Charles III and Camilla reveals an uncommon tradition
Exactly twenty years ago, few bet on them. But time has proven Charles III and Camilla right. They have just celebrated their wedding anniversary with a closeness that even surprises Princes William and Harry.
The royal couple took advantage of their state visit to Italy to commemorate these two decades of union. The atmosphere couldn't have been more filled with symbolism and implicit gestures of affection.

The story behind their relationship wasn't easy. Marked by controversy and media pressure, it seemed they would never manage to establish themselves as a royal couple. Today, however, they form a solid, serene, and very well-matched duo. In recent hours, one of the most surprising details of their private life has come to light again.
The Secret of Charles III and Camilla's Marriage That Has Just Come to Light
Away from conventions, Charles III and Camilla opted from the beginning of their marriage to organize their home in a particular way. As the specialized journalist Helena Chard explained to Fox News: "They've known each other since they were very young and are great friends. There is no rivalry between King Charles and Queen Camilla."
Beyond affection and closeness, there is a practical component that has helped consolidate their relationship. "They've also found the best way to sleep. At Clarence House, they have the privilege of having their own rooms in addition to the shared one," Chard revealed.

The couple has resided at Clarence House since 2002, when they were still Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall. There, in what was the Queen Mother's residence, they organized their private spaces with an uncommon logic. Each has their own bedroom and also a third one they use together on occasions.
This arrangement makes more sense than it seems. According to the British press, the now king suffers from chronic back problems, which require him to sleep under certain special conditions. Additionally, both greatly value their personal independence, and having separate rooms reinforces that balance.
They Also Have Separate Houses
Beyond Clarence House, the independence pact extends to their personal properties. Charles III keeps Highgrove House, his country residence in Gloucestershire. Meanwhile, Camilla retains Ray Mill House, a house in Wiltshire that she acquired before marrying.

According to Chard's words, "before marrying Charles, Camilla made a pact with him: Ray Mill House would be her refuge. She goes every weekend when she can, and also during the summer to spend time with her grandchildren and children, which takes her away from the real world."
There, each finds their refuge and a space to relax when they need it. In fact, "both are independent people. They don't live in each other's pocket, but spend much of their time apart in their country homes."
Such a habit breaks with the traditional image of the royal couple always united under one roof. In their case, however, it seems to work perfectly.

A Tradition That Comes From Afar
Sleeping in separate rooms is not unusual in royalty. In fact, this system has been common among several royal couples over the years. It has even been mentioned that Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh also slept separately in their private quarters at Buckingham.
