Official announcement about King Felipe and Leonor: everyone was waiting for it
Followers of the royal house have been filled with excitement after the latest announcement about Leonor and King Felipe
Almost five months have already passed since Leonor began one of the most significant chapters of her training as a future queen: her instructional journey aboard the iconic training ship Elcano. Leonor has shown that she is a young woman worthy of succeeding her father, King Felipe VI.
It was last January 11 when Leonor departed from the port of Cádiz, in an emotional farewell led by King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia. They, visibly moved, accompanied their eldest daughter before she set sail for the Canary Islands, the first stop of her journey.

During this time, Leonor has left her mark both on and off the ship. Her performance on board has been exemplary, fulfilling with rigor and commitment all the tasks assigned as part of her training in the Navy.
Princess Leonor will keep King Felipe's tradition
However, her journey has also been marked by personal moments that have captured the country's attention. The photos of the princess in a bikini or the emotional reunion with her mother during the stop in Panama have been just some of the moments that have made headlines.
Now, all attention is focused on her return home. Last June 5, the princess disembarked in New York, the last stop of her transoceanic trip.

After fulfilling several official commitments in the city, Leonor is preparing to return to Spain. She will do so differently from the rest of the midshipmen: following the tradition that King Felipe VI already kept in his day, she will return by plane and not by ship.
Princess Leonor will have a great reunion with Felipe VI
Upon her arrival, Leonor will continue her training by embarking for a month on a Navy frigate. It will not be until Monday, July 7, when she reunites with her companions in Gijón, thus marking a desired reunion. Afterwards, they will all stop in Ferrol (from July 9 to 12) and finally arrive in Marín on the 14th.

The most symbolic moment of this entire process will come on July 16, the day of Carmen, patron saint of the Spanish Navy. It will be then when King Felipe VI presents the commissions to the new officers, among them, his own daughter.
An image full of emotion and meaning that everyone is already looking forward to, as happened at the General Military Academy of Zaragoza. Without a doubt, it will be a historic date and a new chapter in the consolidation of Princess Leonor's role in the institutional life of the country.
