Neither Movistar nor Vodafone: Orange Boasts After Earning Users' Trust

Orange presents itself as the company with the most customers in Spain, gaining a significant advantage over the competition.

In a competitive market like telecommunications, the figures for active mobile lines play a key role in showing who leads. In this context, the MasOrange group, which includes Orange, has achieved a remarkable victory by becoming the company with the most mobile lines in the country. It surpasses giants like Movistar and Vodafone.

According to the latest data from the National Commission on Markets and Competition (CNMC), Orange has established itself as the leading operator, with a total of 25.63 million active mobile lines. This places it ahead of Movistar, which has 16.12 million lines, and Vodafone, which holds 12.37 million.

The numbers reflect a clear advantage for the orange operator, which can now boast in front of its closest competitors.

Orange Surpasses Everyone

With these results, the MasOrange group, to which Orange belongs, reaches a market share of 41.97%. This impressive figure places it well above Movistar (26.4%) and Vodafone (20.26%). If we add the three major operators in the country, Movistar, Orange, and Vodafone, together they cover 88.63% of the total mobile lines in Spain.

Although the three giants dominate the market, there is a surprise in the current landscape. Digi, an operator that in its early years was considered a small competitor, has risen to the fourth position, presenting a total of 5.82 million active lines.

This growth reveals how low-cost operators have managed to capture a significant share of customers, which could alter the traditional dynamics of the sector in the coming years.

Orange Emerges as the Big Winner

By the end of October, Spain had a total of 61.07 million mobile lines, according to the most recent data from the CNMC. Of these, four out of ten are included within the MasOrange group. In fact, it consolidates itself as the undisputed leader of the sector, not only in terms of the number of lines but also in market share.

Its growth is unstoppable, and the company seems to have found a winning formula that allows it to stay at the forefront. With a varied offering and a solid customer base, Orange has managed to stand out from its direct competitors. For now, they don't seem to have the power to overshadow it.
