Movistar's Latest Attempt to Silence Critics: Customers Have the Final Say

Movistar aims to improve the offer it provides to these users and is preparing significant changes throughout the year

In the last two months, Movistar has been the center of numerous complaints from its users. Criticisms came strongly due to recent changes in the offer of its Movistar Plus+ television platform, especially the removal of fourteen channels from the AMC group.

These channels, which offered a wide variety of content, were replaced by four channels from BBC Studios. This is the case with BBC Drama, BBC Top Gear, BBC History, and BBC Food. Although the company's intention was to renew its proposal, many customers did not view this change favorably.

With the aim of calming users and trying to regain lost trust, Movistar has decided to take action. The company has announced its intention to expand its collaboration with BBC Studios, which includes the launch of a new service called BBC Player, which will be available at the end of this year.

This service will feature more than 1,000 hours of content, including documentaries, series, and programs from the BBC Studios catalog. This way, Movistar seeks to offer more quality content to its subscribers, something that is perceived as a direct response to the complaints received.

Movistar Announces Two New Channels

In addition to BBC Player, Movistar has announced that it will expand its offer with the incorporation of two new channels. However, details about the themes or release dates of these new contents have not yet been revealed.

While the news sounds promising, many users remain skeptical. Changes in Movistar Plus+ television since the beginning of the year have not been well received. The replacement of popular channels and the lack of clear new features have caused a widespread feeling of dissatisfaction among customers.

This is undoubtedly an attempt by Movistar to regain ground in an increasingly competitive television market. The competition is not only limited to other television operators but also to streaming platforms that have quickly gained ground, offering a wide variety of content at more accessible prices.

Movistar Awaits Customers' Reaction

No one doubts the efforts to improve the offer. But the truth is that the real reaction of the customers will determine the success or failure of these initiatives.

Movistar has a great responsibility, especially because users' trust has been affected by the abrupt changes that were implemented in their day. Customers expect more clarity, stability, and an offer that truly fits their interests and expectations.

Now it is the subscribers' turn. It will be interesting to see how they react to the expansion of content with BBC Studios and the arrival of new channels.
