King Charles and Queen Camilla send a message that affects Buckingham Palace
Charles and Camilla's decision could transform the internal dynamics of the palace in a surprising way
Life at Buckingham Palace is constantly in motion. Behind every official act, King Charles and Queen Camilla know that excellence lies in the details. Now they've decided to send a very clear message: they want to renew their closest team.
The environment of British royalty isn't measured only in titles and protocols. The real driving force of the palace is the human team working behind the scenes. That's why Charles and Camilla are committed to adding talent that will further elevate the level of their day-to-day life.

An exclusive vacancy in Charles III and Camilla's kitchens
The British Royal Household has published a job offer to fill a sous chef position at Buckingham Palace. It's not a minor role, since this person will be second in command in the kitchen, under the orders of the head chef. The mission is clear: to ensure "smooth operations and the highest standards of service quality."
The sous chef will be responsible for planning menus, coordinating the team, and supervising dish preparation. In addition, this person must make sure that ingredients are available at all times. The requirements are strict: experience in five-star catering, leadership skills, and mastery in all kitchen areas, including pastry.
This person won't only cook for the royal family. They'll also do so for heads of state and royal households from around the world who visit the palace. Commitment, organization, and exceptional communication skills are expected.

Buckingham Palace takes care of its employees
The position not only offers prestige but also conditions that few employers can match. The workweek will be 45 hours (45 horas) with weekends off, and occasionally an additional afternoon. When travel to other residences is necessary, those days will be compensated as days off.
The benefits package includes between 25 and 30 days (25 y 30 días) of vacation. In addition, a 15% non-contributory pension plan and paid leave for volunteer work are offered. To complete the offer, financial assistance is provided in cases of paternity or maternity and support for physical and mental well-being.
Additionally, the sous chef will have meals included, discounts at Royal Collection Trust shops, and free admission to royal facilities. The salary isn't specified in the offer, since it will depend on the candidate's experience. The selection process will remain open until September 28, 2025.
