Jorge Rey Is Clear: This Will Happen With Snow in Spain in the Coming Hours

This Friday, a mass of cold air combined with incoming precipitation will cause snow to fall in several areas

This Friday, February 7, snow will be the main protagonist in many areas of the country. It will be due to the arrival of a cold air mass that has caused a significant drop in temperatures. This thermal drop, combined with the presence of rain, will favor the appearance of snowfalls in several regions.

The winter episode that Spain is experiencing is due to an atmospheric configuration in which cold air has forcefully entered from the Atlantic. This has created a favorable scenario for snow, especially in the northern half and mountain areas. Some forecasts also suggest that snowfalls could occur at lower altitudes than expected.

Jorge Rey predicted it in his latest video

The young Jorge Rey, known for his alternative prediction methods based on observing nature, had already warned in his latest video. He made it clear that significant snowfalls would occur this Friday. According to his analysis, the arrival of cold air would mean that the snow wouldn't only remain in high mountain areas but could reach lower altitudes.

Among the locations highlighted by Jorge Rey as possible snow scenarios are Burgos, Soria, Segovia, Teruel, and even Valencia. This would be an unusual phenomenon in this last city. However, this prediction has not been fully supported by official meteorological models.

Where will it snow according to AEMET?

The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) has issued its own forecast. It indicates that snowfalls will be concentrated mainly in the mountains of the northern half of the peninsula. Significant accumulations are expected in the northern third, while in the northern plateau and the southeastern mountains, snowfalls are not ruled out, although to a lesser extent.

Regarding the snow level, it is expected that in the far north it will drop below 2,297 ft. (700 meters). In the center and south, it will remain at higher values, between 3,937 ft. and 4,921 ft. (1,200 and 1,500 meters). Although some predictions pointed to the possibility of snow in cities like Valencia, AEMET considers that the levels will not be as low as speculated in some forecasts.

Precaution on the roads

The snowfalls, although not excessively heavy according to Jorge Rey, could cause traffic problems. Therefore, he recommends exercising extreme caution in the affected areas. Snow accumulations could reach up to 5.9 in. (15 centimeters) in 24 hours in some points of the northern half.

Mountain roads and some sections of the main network are expected to be affected, especially in areas of the Pyrenees. Authorities have reminded the importance of carrying chains or winter tires if traveling through these areas. Additionally, it is vital to check the road conditions before embarking on any trip.

A day to be alert to the weather

Although official meteorological models indicate that snow will be concentrated in the mountains and from certain altitudes, the evolution of the atmospheric situation during the day will be key. It will serve to determine if snowfalls finally reach lower areas than expected.

AEMET insists that this winter episode will not be particularly long-lasting, but its impact could be felt in different parts of the country until well into the night. In any case, today will be a day of constant monitoring to see how this meteorological phenomenon develops.
