Goodbye Movistar: Changes Aren't Giving the Expected Result and Many Are Asking for a Rectification

Many users express their dissatisfaction both with the loss of channels and the increase in rates.

Movistar is going through a difficult time. Many of its customers are considering whether it's really worth continuing with the service. The changes made in recent months haven't delivered the expected results.

Subscribers of Movistar Plus+ are crying out for the company to bring back some of the options it has removed. One of the most controversial moves was the removal of fourteen AMC group channels at the beginning of the year. Channels like DeCasa, Canal Cocina, Canal Hollywood, Somos, or Canal Historia disappeared from the programming.

This caused great disappointment among users who were used to enjoying these contents. To compensate for this loss, Movistar opted to include four new channels from BBC Studios, but the move didn't prove to be as effective as expected. Subscribers haven't managed to connect with the new channels, which haven't succeeded in replacing the popularity of those that disappeared.

Movistar Can't Find the Right Key

In response to the growing dissatisfaction, Movistar has also tried to attract its customers with the arrival of several temporary channels. Among them are Los 90 por M+, which will premiere on March 20 on dial 15. Also De época por M+ and Los Oscar por M+.

However, although these new additions are well received, they haven't managed to calm the widespread frustration of subscribers. They still miss the AMC group channels.

Additionally, Movistar has announced an expansion of its collaboration with BBC, with the launch of the new BBC Player service. This service will feature more than 1,000 hours of content, including series, documentaries, and programs from BBC Studios. The new service is expected to arrive on the Movistar Plus+ platform by the end of 2025.

A Year Full of Changes at Movistar

The year has started with a series of changes that haven't satisfied users. The increase in rates has been another factor that has caused discontent among subscribers.

Television companies usually adjust prices periodically. But on this occasion, many consider that the increase hasn't been justified by the changes in the channel offering. The new proposals, although interesting, haven't managed to replace the quality and variety of options that were available until recently.

In this context, many Movistar Plus+ customers are considering whether it's really worth staying with the company. Despite the new options that have appeared, users continue to demand the return of the AMC universe channels. The general feeling is that the changes made haven't been successful and that Movistar should rectify to regain the trust of its subscribers.
