The Comunicando Futuro Foundation Presents the Alejandro Echevarría Awards

Civil society leaders, professionals, public and private entities join the Comunicando Futuro Foundation

In this III Edition of the Alejandro Echevarría Awards, the Comunicando Futuro Foundation has received support from numerous public and private entities and collaborators, among which stands out the Honorary Presidency of H.R.H. Queen Letizia. They all share a common point: misinformation is one of the most concerning problems that will affect citizens in the coming years according to the latest Davos Forum and that misinformation negatively influences all areas of society, such as science, health, education, economy, and even democracy.

"The Foundation is determined to embark on a new stage with generational change and a revitalized value proposition. For the first time, individuals, causes, and institutions at a global level are recognized for fighting against misinformation through their rigorous daily activity. The support of H.R.H. Queen Letizia, by assuming the Honorary Presidency of the Awards in this 2025 edition, is a source of pride for what this support means for the Foundation that Alejandro Echevarría Busquet promoted as a personal project in his last years," highlights Aletxu Echevarría, President of the Foundation.

During the Gala, it was announced that Carles Francino, journalist and communicator, has been awarded the Special Alejandro Echevarría Award, which represents the values of the Founder. Additionally, the Foundation wanted to present an exceptional award this year to all regional and local Valencian media and communication professionals for their informative work in the context of the DANA, who were immersed in voracious misinformation, which they had to combat with rigor. The award is presented to the Professional Association of Valencian Journalists and the Unió de Periodistes Valencians.

A selection of the Jury, representing the 19 members, explained during the ceremony why each award was granted among the 78 nominations submitted:

• Award for Informative Transparency and Rigor: Newtral, received by Ana Pastor
