This growth is not an isolated event but the result of a consolidated strategy in recent years. Since 2020, the entity has maintained an upward trend in credit granting.

CaixaBank Hotels & Tourism Reaches Historic Record in Financing

In that year, CaixaBank allocated 2.5 billion euros to the sector, followed by 2.6 billion in 2021. In 2022, it was 2.8 billion and 2.85 billion in 2023. Now, with 4 billion reached in 2024, CaixaBank's role as a key reference in financing the hotel sector in Spain is confirmed.

The increase in financing has also brought about a rise in the number of operations carried out. During 2024, CaixaBank Hotels & Tourism formalized 3,600 credit granting operations. This represents nearly 1,000 more than the previous year and a 36% growth.

These figures reflect the tourism sector's confidence in the bank. They also demonstrate its ability to provide financial solutions tailored to the needs of hoteliers and tourism entrepreneurs.

In geographical terms, the autonomous communities that have received the highest volume of financing have been the Balearic Islands, Catalonia, Madrid, the Canary Islands, and Andalusia. These regions, with a high concentration of tourist establishments, have shown particularly dynamic behavior in investing and modernizing their hotel infrastructure.

The volume of credit granted by CaixaBank has not only served to finance new hotel acquisitions. Meanwhile, a large part of the investment has been directed toward the renovation and modernization of tourist accommodations. Improving energy efficiency, optimizing spaces, and adapting facilities to trends have been some of the priorities in which entrepreneurs have invested.

Another major focus of investment has been technological innovation, with projects centered on the digitization of services. They also focus on improving the customer experience and implementing advanced solutions for hotel management.

In addition to these strategic projects, the bank has also supported the daily operations of companies through working capital products. This facilitates business liquidity and helps their financial stability in a context of strong tourism activity.

The growth in financing has allowed CaixaBank Hotels & Tourism to close 2024 with a credit portfolio exceeding 8.3 billion. This figure reflects the entity's commitment to a strategic sector for the country's economy and its role as a financial partner of reference for thousands of companies in the sector.
