Manuel Díaz 'El Cordobés' has given an interview today to Espejo Público. In it, he has both moved and surprised in equal measure with what he has shared about his grandmother.

Specifically, he has revealed that during the last apnea test he performed on El Desafío he reunited with her. He did so when he was already "almost half dead." He managed to stay underwater for more than four minutes.

The bullfighter has confessed that in the final moments underwater, he had a near-death experience in which he felt his grandmother's presence.

Thus, he has described that encounter as a moment of deep serenity, stating: "I was in a place where I had a lot of peace, very cool. It was a place where I had never been."

He added: "A part of my subconscious was not wanting to disappoint everyone. That's why, when they pull me out of the water, they take off my mask and the air hits me, I didn't want to be pulled out. But I had already disconnected."

During the interview, Manuel emphasized the risk of the mentioned challenge by saying: "Apnea is dangerous and I don't advise anyone to do it alone. On El Desafío everything is controlled, there is a medical team watching over you."

"And I thought in those seconds that I could continue because I felt great. And that's when you're starting to go."

Similarly, he has praised the result achieved by Manuel: "You didn't disappoint anyone, you did four minutes and 30 seconds. That's amazing." Although the program's record remains in the hands of Rosa López with ten seconds more than the bullfighter.

Finally, 'El Cordobés' wanted to close his intervention by making it clear that he is delighted with his participation in the contest because the money raised is for charitable purposes. He, who won the last installment, has stated that the real challenge is that of many families to make ends meet. And that for them he is willing to participate in the necessary charitable causes.
