The DGT trusts the consortium participated by Kapsch TrafficCom

The joint venture participated by Kapsch TrafficCom is awarded a support and technical assistance contract.

The Dirección General de Tráfico (DGT) has entrusted the Unión Temporal de Empresas (UTE) participated by Kapsch TrafficCom with the contract for support and technical assistance in managing the Automated Complaint Processing Center, located in León. So far, the system has processed more than three million sanctions.

The scope of this includes both the management of automated complaints based on technical means of video surveillance, whether owned by the DGT or from other Administrations, citizen service, and the corrective, evolutionary, and predictive development and maintenance of information and measurement systems.

The DGT has more than 400 technical means; without intending to be exhaustive, technical means are understood to be those intended to measure speed (speedometers), those intended to perform video analysis (seat belt, safe distance, detection of continuous line crossing, etc.), red-light cameras, and video-stop, whose maintenance will be carried out by the UTE composed of Kapsch TrafficCom and its partners Indra and Worldline.

Javier Aguirre, General Director of Kapsch TrafficCom Spain and Portugal, comments: "Speed limit control is one of the key elements to improve road safety, and we are proud that the DGT continues to trust us."

The order volume amounts to 83 million euros, awarded to the UTE in which Kapsch TrafficCom holds a 33% stake. The project spans from March 2024 to the end of 2027.
