denmark on edge: they reveal the truth about Prince Christian, son of Frederik and Mary
It comes to light how Christian of Denmark, son of Frederik and Mary, is preparing to be heir
In today's monarchies, heirs don't just receive a crown: they also take on the challenge of keeping true to tradition while trying to connect with new generations. Achieving that balance isn't always easy, especially when one is just taking the first steps in public life.
This is the case for Christian of Denmark, son of King Frederik and Queen Mary, who is gradually starting to stand out as an important figure within European royalty. He has already left childhood behind and is beginning to accompany his father at official events. These steps are sparking more and more interest in what his future role in the Danish monarchy will be like.

Christian of Denmark already looks to the future
Since January 14, 2024, when his father was proclaimed king, Christian of Denmark officially took on the role of heir to the throne. Since then, his life has shifted toward institutional commitment, beginning his military training at the prestigious Guard Hussar Regiment. This rigorous and demanding process aims to prepare him to exercise leadership and take on the responsibilities that come with his future role as monarch.
Looking ahead, Christian already has his next step in the military field planned. In August 2025, he will begin the lieutenant training course, a program that will last a full year.
Once that period is over, he will continue with a practical stage as a platoon leader, where he will put into practice the knowledge he has acquired. Both phases are essential to strengthen his bond with the Armed Forces and with public service to the Kingdom of Denmark.

Before starting this stage marked by uniform and discipline, the prince had a very meaningful personal experience in East Africa. For three months, he worked on farms dedicated to sustainability and conservation of the natural environment. For him, it was an enriching experience that allowed him to become aware of other ways of life, and that he described as "an experience I'll never forget."
Approachable, young, and grounded in the present
Despite his institutional obligations, the prince doesn't distance himself from his generation. In June 2025, he was seen at the Distortion Festival in Copenhagen. The young man attended the set of German DJ Adam Port, where he mingled with thousands of young people.
The artist shared photos with Christian and praised the warm atmosphere despite the rain. Seeing the heir at such an informal event pleasantly surprised the public. Back in 2023, he had attended the Aiasound festival, enjoying artists like Melanie C and Thor Farlov.

Thor Farlov keeps a close bond with the royal family; in fact, he was in charge of the music at his sister Isabelle's confirmation. It's clear that Christian of Denmark represents a new way of being an heir. He actively participates in public life without giving up his youth or his ideals.
