The American Retail Giant Announces a New Strategy in the United States

Walmart has taken an important step in its strategy to strengthen its support for local businesses. Through a new program called "Grow with US," the supermarket chain seeks to help small American businesses grow and prosper. This move comes in an economic context where the nationalist policy of the United States is setting the tone and the chain seeks to adapt.

A Boost for Small Businesses in the United States

"Grow with US" is a platform structured in four stages aimed at training and guiding American entrepreneurs. The initiative is designed to facilitate the entry of these small businesses' products into Walmart stores, both physical and online. This program is part of an effort by Walmart to support job creation in the country and improve the competitiveness of the internal economy.

John Furner, CEO of Walmart U.S., highlighted that more than 60% of the company's suppliers in 2024 were small businesses. This figure underscores Walmart's commitment to the growth of local businesses and the creation of new opportunities in the American market.

Beyond Purchasing: Walmart and Its Investment Plan

Walmart's commitment is not limited to direct support for small businesses. The company has also set an ambitious goal of investing 350 billion dollars in products made, grown, or assembled in the United States by 2030. This plan aims to generate up to 750,000 jobs in the country, reinforcing Walmart's strategy to foster a strong internal market.

Through these initiatives, Walmart intends to reduce dependence on imports and strengthen its ties with the American economy. Although it still imports products from countries like China and Mexico, the company is taking concrete steps to increase local production.

The "Open Call 2025" Event and Its Impact

One of the key moments of this strategy will be the annual "Open Call 2025" event, which will be held in October in Bentonville, Arkansas. During this event, small and medium-sized businesses in the United States will be able to present their products to buyers from Walmart and Sam's Club. This gives them the opportunity to be selected for national distribution.

Additionally, the company will organize roadshows in various cities across the country during May, coinciding with Small Business Month. With these initiatives, Walmart not only seeks to diversify its product offerings but also contribute to the country's economic stability by providing new business and employment opportunities. Walmart is aligned with the Trump administration's policies, which promote strengthening the local industry and reducing dependence on imports.
