Walmart confirms the news about Sam's Club and delivers the worst news to Costco in the U.S.

Sam’s Club launches its new service and puts their competitors in check in the United States

A series of recent decisions by Sam’s Club has caused a stir in the U.S. retail sector. Owned by Walmart, this membership club chain has strengthened its strategy with a focus on innovation and consumer convenience. These measures not only aim to improve the shopping experience, but also to directly challenge its main competitor: Costco.

The most recent launch has been a service that combines speed, convenience, and technology. Sam’s Club now allows its members to order whole pizzas through its mobile app. The key difference is that customers can pick up their orders from their cars using the curbside pickup system, without needing to enter the store. This advantage has been well received, especially compared to Costco's traditional model, where users usually wait in line to purchase prepared foods.

In addition to this quick option, Sam’s Club has taken another important step by extending the hours of its food area. Previously, this section closed before the main store, but now both areas operate simultaneously. This allows members to access prepared foods until the end of the day, saving time and gaining flexibility.

Some employees have expressed concern about possible work overload. However, most customers have welcomed the measure.

These decisions respond to frequent requests from consumers. Sam’s Club's menu has expanded to include 16 in. (40.6 cm) pizzas in varieties such as pepperoni, cheese, and four meats, with a competitive price of $8.98. Deliveries are made in less than three hours at most locations, and the chain plans to expand this service nationwide by the end of May 2025.

This was confirmed by Southern Living: "Members can now order pizzas... at a price of $8.98 each... deliveries in as little as three hours."

Time for changes at Sam's Club | Walmart

This set of changes reflects a well-calculated strategy. Sam’s Club seeks to stand out as a more modern and efficient option. By allowing orders to be managed from a cell phone and picked up without leaving the car, the chain adapts to fast-paced lifestyles. This innovation sends a direct message to Costco: there is a willingness to compete and surpass in service.

Meanwhile, Walmart hasn't been left behind. Sam’s Club's parent company announced a major renovation that will affect more than 650 stores in 47 states. This transformation aims to modernize the customer experience, focusing on the functionality, sustainability, and accessibility of the spaces. This was reported by El Diario NY: "Walmart confirms that they will modernize more than 650 stores."

This type of move positions Sam’s Club in a more aggressive role within the U.S. market. It's no longer just about low prices or bulk products. The goal is an improved experience that meets new demands: less time in store, more digital services, and greater availability.
