New setback for T-Mobile: It doesn't keep its word once again and customers explode
The operator disappoints users again, who were waiting to receive compensation
T-Mobile is once again at the center of controversy and users are furious. Many expected to receive money this April as part of a legal settlement for a data breach that occurred in 2021. But the payments didn't arrive and now everything has been postponed again.
The situation has caused a wave of complaints against the operator. It had assured that payments would begin in April 2025. However, now there is talk of new unexpected delays that have moved the date to May.
Despite being just one more month, many customers have already lost patience.

What exactly happened with T-Mobile?
In 2021, T-Mobile was the victim of a cyberattack that compromised the information of 76 million people. The stolen data included names, addresses, birth dates, Social Security numbers, and driver's licenses. The news caused great concern among users, as this data can be easily used for fraud.
The company, although it didn't admit direct responsibility, agreed to pay 350 million euros as part of a class-action settlement. Additionally, it offered affected individuals free identity protection services for two years, along with other security measures.
Affected users were notified in 2022 and were given until January 2023 to submit their compensation claim. Depending on the case, some could receive up to 25,000 euros, reports Usa Today. Especially if they proved to have incurred expenses related to identity theft.
Other users who couldn't justify their losses will receive lower payments, between $25 and $100. When submitting their claim, they could choose how they wanted to receive the money. Either through a digital form or a physical check.

Everything seemed set to begin in April of this year, but the payment has been delayed again. The settlement administrator has informed that there are still pending procedures and that this could affect the delivery of the money. Now it could take weeks or even months more after May.
T-Mobile disappoints many
Internet forums and social media are full of complaints toward T-Mobile. Customers feel that the company has once again failed to keep its promises. Many are upset by the lack of transparency and communication.
Although the legal proceedings have already concluded, the company hasn't offered a detailed explanation about the new delay. This has caused even more frustration among those who urgently expected that money.
This new setback from T-Mobile only worsens the already damaged relationship with its users. The company needs to act quickly if it wants to regain trust. For now, the only clear thing is that the affected will have to keep waiting and there is no guarantee that this will be the last delay.
