Not Walmart, not Costco: this is the chain that's growing like crazy in the US
One of the major retail brands continues to expand and is taking advantage of the ground that other giants have left open
In the competitive world of retail in the United States, names like Walmart and Costco have dominated the scene for years. However, new dynamics are transforming the landscape in several cities across the country. Some giants are losing ground while others are seizing the moment to grow strongly.
In Norwalk, Connecticut, Walmart no longer reigns. The lights are on, the signs are ready, and hiring is already underway to welcome a new Target. Although there is no official opening date yet, this store is expected to open in 2025, according to official city documents.

A New Beginning For Norwalk
This new store will occupy the space left vacant by a Walmart that closed a year and a half ago. With its departure, it left a large unmet demand in the area. Now Target is ready to take advantage of that gap. The characteristic red image has already replaced the previous blue, which has sparked excitement among residents.
The first to notice were the neighbors, who saw the "coming soon" sign. Through social media, several have already celebrated the arrival of this brand. Some even claim that prices are lower than at Walmart, which has caused even more anticipation.
Jobs are also arriving, with several vacancies posted online, reveals The Sun. Salaries range from $26.50 to $45.05 per hour, and the positions include sales leaders, customer service, and more. This arrival not only meets a commercial need but also boosts the local economy.

More Than a Store: An Expanding Commercial Hub
Target won't arrive alone. Right across the street, Norwalk residents will also welcome their first Wegmans, another big name in the retail industry. This store does have a confirmed date: it will open on July 23, and will share a traffic intersection with the new Target.
The Connecticut Avenue area is becoming a true commercial point of interest. In addition to the new stores, Costco is investing in the area with an additional entrance, a tire center, and more space in its garage. All this is attracting greater activity and convenience for shoppers.

Target, meanwhile, has recently launched its Target Circle 360 membership program. For $99 per year, it offers benefits such as free same-day deliveries, more time for returns, and exclusive discounts. With this, it seeks to further strengthen its presence and build customer loyalty.
This change in the commercial landscape in Norwalk could be a sign of what's to come in many other cities across the country. In times when consumer habits are evolving rapidly, chains like Target seem to be one step ahead.
