KFC Completely Changes in the United States: Elon Musk Shows Them the Way

A Very Significant Change from the King of Chicken in the USA That No One Expected

The story of one of the world's most recognized chains is about to take a significant turn. KFC, famous for its secret chicken recipe, has made an unexpected decision involving its main headquarters that hasn't gone unnoticed.

Although many associate the brand with its roots in the southern United States, it now plans to start a new chapter in another state. The decision aims to reorganize its operations and improve its efficiency.

Goodbye to Kentucky, Its Home for 95 Years

Since its inception in 1930, KFC had kept its operations center in Kentucky. Its origin traces back to a modest motel in Corbin, where Harland Sanders began serving fried chicken to travelers. But now, Yum! Brands —the parent company of the chain— has confirmed that it will move its corporate headquarters to Plano, Texas.

The new location will also be the central home of Pizza Hut, another brand of the group. Plano is located north of Dallas and will be the destination for employees from the Louisville office, as well as for remote workers who will need to move "where their work happens."

A Decision to Strengthen Growth

David Gibbs, CEO of Yum! Brands, explained that this relocation is intended to bring the team closer together and improve both internal and external experiences. "These changes position us for sustainable growth and will help us better serve our customers, employees, franchisees, and shareholders," he said. He also highlighted that "bringing more of our staff together consistently will enhance our unmatched culture and our talent as a competitive advantage."

In total, around 100 positions will move in the next six months, and about 90 more will do so in the following 18 months. Gibbs also stated that this step represents an evolution to strengthen the global impact of KFC and its associated brands.

Kentucky Remains in the Equation

Despite the relocation of its headquarters, KFC is not entirely leaving the state where it was born. Yum! Brands will keep offices in Louisville, along with the KFC Foundation, which will continue operating from there. They have also announced a donation of one million dollars to the University of Louisville to support scholarships for business students.

Additionally, there are plans to open a new flagship restaurant in Kentucky, described as "the first of its kind." Meanwhile, other brands of the group, such as Taco Bell and Habit Burger & Grill, will remain in California, where their headquarters are currently located.

Innovation on the Horizon in the Fried Chicken World

KFC is not only reorganizing its administrative structure but also testing a new restaurant format that aims to compete directly with Raising Cane's. The company assures that it is a concept that will "obsess" its customers. The brand aims to modernize without losing its essence.
