Zelenski Willing to Resign From His Position for Ukraine's Entry Into Nato

Zelenski stated that he would accept this agreement as long as it included a weapons package that guarantees Ukraine's security.

Volodímir Zelenski has declared his willingness to relinquish the territories occupied by Russia, including Lugansk, Donetsk, Zaporiyia, Kherson and Crimea, in exchange for the integration of the rest of Ukraine into NATO.

In an interview with journalist Lex Fridman, Zelenski stated that he would accept this agreement as long as it included a weapons package that guarantees Ukraine's security.

These statements come in a context where the President of the United States, Donald Trump. Has urged Zelenski to call elections in Ukraine as a condition to advance a peace agreement with Russia.

Trump has pointed out that the absence of elections in Ukraine hinders the achievement of peace and has criticized Zelenski's management. Suggesting that his leadership has allowed the continuation of a war that could have been avoided.

Meanwhile, the Kremlin has reiterated that the Ukrainian territories incorporated into Russia "are not for sale" and are considered a permanent part of the country.

These statements underscore the complexity of peace negotiations and the difficulties in reaching an agreement that satisfies all parties involved.

Meanwhile, talks between the United States and Russia continue. With Trump expressing confidence in the possibility of signing a peace agreement in the short term.

However, the exclusion of Ukraine in the initial stages of these negotiations has raised concern in Kiev, where there is fear that Ukrainian interests may be compromised.

Sánchez Criticizes Trump for Ukraine While Spain Continues Buying Gas from Russia

Pedro Sánchez has intensified his rhetoric against Donald Trump, trying to position himself as the global progressive leader confronting the former U.S. president.

However, his belligerent discourse clashes with an uncomfortable paradox.  While criticizing Trump's stance on Ukraine, his government remains one of the main buyers of Russian gas in Europe.

The Spanish Prime Minister lashed out at Trump at a PSOE event in Palencia, accusing him of favoring "the law of the strongest" in the Ukraine war. According to Sánchez, a "just and lasting" peace must be negotiated with Kiev and the European Union. Not imposed unilaterally, as he claims the Republican administration intends to do.

What Sánchez doesn't mention is that Spain has increased its purchases of Russian gas since the beginning of the Ukraine invasion in 2022.
