Tourism on the Costa Blanca stands out as an inclusive and accessible tourist destination

The Costa Blanca Provincial Tourism Board, a benchmark in tourist accessibility

The Provincial Tourism Board of Costa Blanca has been highlighted as an example in promoting tourist accessibility, both in the physical and in-person realm and in the digital environment. This recognition was reflected in the first edition of the "Guide to Best Practices in Tourism Accessibility," presented at an online event organized by Ilunion Accessibility, with the support of the Junta de Andalucía.

Recognition for an Inclusive Destination

The president of the Alicante Provincial Council, Toni Pérez, emphasized that the initiatives included in the Board's Action Plan have established Costa Blanca as an inclusive and accessible tourist destination for everyone.

Among the most notable actions are two key projects that support this recognition:

Adapted Cycling Tourism

Promotion of adapted disciplines like handbike, which reaffirm the commitment to accessible sports tourism.

Organization of activities such as famtrips with Club No Limits, collaborations with international content creators, and training sessions aimed at municipal technicians.

Positioning Costa Blanca as a benchmark in the field of adapted sports tourism.

Smart Costa Blanca

Implementation of an intelligent tourism management system that guarantees universal accessibility in the digital environment.

Use of advanced technologies to present the tourist offer in a visually impactful and accessible way for all audiences.

Integration of online tools and adapted physical resources to facilitate access for all visitors.

Commitment to Comprehensive Accessibility

President Toni Pérez highlighted that these initiatives reflect the Board's commitment to comprehensive accessibility that encompasses both the in-person experience and digital tools. This vision seeks to eliminate barriers and ensure access to information and services for all visitor profiles.

Additionally, the inclusion of these actions in the "Guide to Best Practices in Tourism Accessibility" highlights Costa Blanca's leadership in promoting more inclusive, sustainable, and connected tourism.

Model for Other Tourist Destinations

According to Pérez, this document will serve as a reference for other tourist destinations interested in implementing strategies that effectively integrate physical and digital accessibility. The recognition underscores the Board's leadership in transforming toward a more visitor experience-oriented and inclusive tourism model.

This achievement consolidates Costa Blanca as a pioneering destination in tourist accessibility, moving toward a future where all visitors can enjoy a fully inclusive experience.
