This Is the Socialist Who Supported the Construction of the Judge's Chalet in Begoña's Case

At no time did he cut his ties with the socialist party

J.J.T was mayor of La Adrada for PSOE from 1999 to 2005. He was convicted of administrative malfeasance and disqualified for nine years and three months, until 2014.

At no time did he sever his ties with the socialist party, showing himself fully in favor of any decision-making that involved the party's well-being.

However, as La Gaceta explains, in 2016, Tomás made a decision. His vote was key to allowing the legalization of Juan Carlos Peinado's chalet.

Let's remember that he is the judge in charge of investigating a corruption case. A case where Begoña Gómez, the wife of his esteemed leader, could be involved.

In April 2023, the ever-socialist returned to his party. He did so by leading the socialist list in La Adrada and describing this move as "a return home".

"For PSOE to be the most voted list." That is what J.J.T assured he expected from the next electoral appointment, stating that he was "going out to win" and trusting that the disqualification sentence wouldn't take a toll on him.

"I didn't do anything harmful. It was a mistake of a Plenary agreement made between five councilors, even though only two of us were convicted," he argued. However, they only obtained one seat.

Regarding the chalet, and despite legal obstacles, Judge Peinado obtained the construction license. It was at that moment when he began building in 2006. He did so without making the concessions for common infrastructures, such as green areas or streets, required by the partial plan.

A decade later, in June 2016, the land was reclassified from "developable" to "urban" in an extraordinary session. It was thanks to the favorable votes of PP and socialist councilor Juan José Tomás Esteban, who currently leads the party at the local level.

Currently, according to J.J.T, the socialist group in his locality has tripled its number of members, increasing from 21 to 62. He also claims that this was achieved "despite threats and direct calls not to affiliate and for the group to dissolve".

However, about twenty former members have denounced, through a press release, the "mass affiliations". They also mentioned other "movements made by PSOE" to alter the group's will.

Meanwhile, they questioned the election of J.J.T as a candidate. They pointed out that he was president of a political party unrelated to PSOE, something that "the statutes" of this party "do not accept".
