Former Podemos Collaborators Who Criticize Irene Montero and Pablo Iglesias
These are the two women who claim that Montero and Iglesias knew about the sexual harassment allegations against Monedero
A new controversy erupts around Irene Montero and Pablo Iglesias, this time, over an alleged case of sexual harassment directly implicating Juan Carlos Monedero. Supposedly, and according to the digital outlet El Debate, there are exchanged messages indicating that both the former Minister of Equality and her husband, the former Vice President, were allegedly aware.
New revelations suggest that Pablo Iglesias and Irene Montero were allegedly aware, for two years, of sexual harassment complaints against Juan Carlos Monedero.

According to a conversation accessed by the cited outlet, two former collaborators of Podemos and the media outlet Canal Red claimed that the Podemos couple knew about these accusations. This, without having taken any measures in response.
Leaked Conversations Compromise Podemos's Leadership
The revelations come from Raquel Ogando, a feminist influencer previously linked to Podemos, and Ayme Román, a philosopher and former collaborator of Canal Red. In a message exchange dated April 18, 2023, Román expressed her disappointment upon learning about the situation.
I'm finding out things that disappoint me a lot.
She also added the following:
Irene knows, and Pablo, certainly.
In response to the strong statement, Ogando replied affirming that this was common knowledge within the party, which Román confirmed with a resounding "Literal."

Monedero's Continued Presence in Canal Red Despite Accusations
The conversation also questions Monedero's role in Canal Red. Ogando asked if, despite the complaints, he would continue participating in Iglesias's television.

Román replied: "He already has it. In La Frontera," confirming his presence in the media.
Additionally, the messages mention Inna Afinogenova, a Russian journalist collaborating with Canal Red, who allegedly publicly defended Monedero by claiming the complaints were false. Román attributed this stance to Sergio Gregori, a former collaborator of Iglesias, who reportedly conveyed this version.
A Scandal That Reopens the Debate on Handling Complaints in Podemos
The leak of these messages raises new doubts about how Podemos and Canal Red handle accusations of this nature within their environment. The alleged inaction of Iglesias and Montero, despite being aware of the facts, could fuel the controversy over the internal management of such cases in the party.
