The Reason Why the Conciliation Act Between Aldama and Sánchez Was Suspended

This conciliation act had been convened following the lawsuit filed by PSOE on behalf of several members of the Government.

The Court of First Instance Number 86 of Madrid has suspended the conciliation act scheduled for March 4. Víctor de Aldama and members of the Government were supposed to attend.

The suspension is due to an error in notifications, according to legal sources consulted by Europa Press. For now, a new date for the act has not been set.

This conciliation act had been convened following the lawsuit filed by PSOE on behalf of several members of the Government.

The lawsuit is based on the statements of Víctor de Aldama during his voluntary appearance in November before the judge of the National Court. It investigates the 'Koldo case'. In his statement, De Aldama accused several members of the Government and PSOE of alleged crimes of slander and libel.

Among the accused are the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez; his wife, Begoña Gómez. In addition to ministers Ángel Víctor Torres and María Jesús Montero; Montero's Chief of Staff, Carlos Moreno; the former minister and President of Generalitat, Salvador Illa; and PSOE's Secretary of Organization, Santos Cerdán.

De Aldama stated that he had received an envelope with 15,000 euros from Santos Cerdán. That Koldo García had also asked him for 50,000 euros for Ángel Víctor Torres. Additionally, he mentioned that the scheme paid him 25,000 euros after asking him for a "favor" to obtain a deferment for one of his companies.

The alleged fixer also mentioned President Pedro Sánchez. Claiming that he knew him and that Sánchez had asked to speak with him at a PSOE event. Allegedly to congratulate him for work he was doing in Mexico.

He also referred to the President's wife, Begoña Gómez, indicating that he had met with her to discuss the emptied Spain.

Following these statements, the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office requested the judge of the National Court who was keeping De Aldama in prison for another case. Related to an alleged hydrocarbon fraud, to release him. The businessman left Soto del Real that same night.

The suspension of the conciliation act adds a new chapter to the 'Koldo case', which continues to be the subject of media and judicial attention. It is expected that in the coming weeks a new date will be set for the conciliation act between the parties involved.
