The mayor of La Carolina puts the former socialist mayor against the ropes

The mayor of La Carolina, in Jaén, has spoken. Through a press conference, Cristóbal Pérez Martínez has denounced the victimizing attitude of the local PSOE leader, Yolanda Reche. An attitude that her party has adopted after the controversial case of the pool tables became known.

It was a scandal concerning alleged false billing that implicated the former socialist mayor and several of her closest collaborators. Supposedly, it all began when the grandparents at the local pensioners' home informed the current mayor about a pool table. A table that the former mayor had promised them but never arrived at its destination despite being paid for.

The complaint filed with the Court of First Instance and Instruction number two of La Carolina revealed something unheard of. More specifically, that the invoice for the pool table supposedly acquired by the town hall lacked a CIF. This made its verification difficult, as the invoice amounts to 3241.60 euros.

When contacting the business indicated on the invoice, they denied issuing such a document, assuring that they hadn't provided any service or received any payment for a pool table. The investigation discovered that the invoice was fake, which triggered a series of accusations against the former mayor and her closest circle.

Since then, Reche, supported by Paco Reyes, president of the Socialist Party of Jaén, has denounced a campaign of lies and slander by the PP. Something that the current mayor has come to refute. After the complaint filed by the current Town Hall, the truth of the facts has been known, and Pérez Martínez has made it known.

"In recent days, the Jaén Court has issued an order that puts Yolanda Reche's trusted person in the dock," explained the popular.

This is a decision made after accusing her of two alleged crimes: forgery of a public document and embezzlement of public funds. With this and considering the penal code, the accused could face a total of seven years in prison.

It is indeed the trusted person of the former socialist mayor of La Carolina. A town hall worker who followed orders from the former mayor Reche, as emphasized by the current mayor. "There is an unquestionable political responsibility on the part of Yolanda Reche and the PSOE of La Carolina."

Despite this, neither the former mayor nor the party has apologized, something that is unbelievable for the local popular group.
