Mary and Frederik of Denmark Issue Urgent Statement: Bags Packed
Mary and Frederik of Denmark have announced the date when the move will take place, May 5
The Danish Royal Family keeps a series of traditions that endure year after year, setting a pattern in their daily life. These rituals, which seem small, are very significant. They are what provide them stability in their busy public life, and the seasonal move is one of the moments they most desire.
Every year, the return to the tranquility of the Danish countryside becomes a well-received escape for the royal family. Although Copenhagen is their official home, the monarchs prefer to enjoy a more relaxed environment during the spring and summer.

The Tradition of Moving to Fredensborg
Frederik and Mary have confirmed that on May 5, they will move to their traditional summer residence, the Chancellery of Fredensborg. This annual move is part of a custom they have kept since their marriage, seeking to enjoy nature and calm. Upon their arrival, they will be officially received by the mayor of the municipality and the castle church choir.
The town awaits this event with enthusiasm, and the reception will be held with flags and songs starting at 5:00 p.m. The Chancellery of Fredensborg is a very special place for the couple: "It's where we settled after our marriage," Prince Frederik highlighted. It is the first common home they had, and it is the place where their children lived during their early years.

A Space Full of History and Luxury
This building, dating from the 18th century, has been renovated and modernized but keeps its historical essence. Over the years, Fredensborg has had various uses, from hospital to warehouse, but it has become a key place for the Danish royal family. Recently, this place has been the scene of important events, such as Queen Margrethe's birthday, celebrated there with the entire royal family.
With more than 10,764 sq. ft. (1,000 square meters) and 30 rooms, the residence features lounges, libraries, and spacious gardens. Among its exteriors, a luxurious pool and a recently renovated equestrian track stand out. This track, which was a gift for Prince Frederik's 50th birthday, is one of the most luxurious in the country.
The natural surroundings and tranquility of Fredensborg offer a perfect respite for the royal family. Frederik and Mary, although very busy with their official commitments, every year, move away from the hustle and bustle of the capital to find peace in their country home.
