Marlaska Suspends His Schedule Due to Health Issues
Grande-Marlaska pauses his official schedule for health reasons
The Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, has temporarily suspended his public schedule due to a bacterial infection. According to his department, the condition is not serious, but it requires rest, which has forced the minister to cancel his participation in several official commitments.
Among the events affected by this suspension is the closing of the conference "The Civil Guard and Women at the Forefront: Women Leading the Fight Against Drug Trafficking," which was scheduled for this Tuesday at the headquarters of the Association of Orphans of the Benemérita. Instead, it will be the Secretary of State for Security, Rafael Pérez Ruiz, who will attend on behalf of the Ministry of the Interior.
Additionally, Pérez Ruiz will also assume the Spanish representation at the meeting of the European Union's Justice and Home Affairs (JHA) Council of Ministers, which will be held this Wednesday.
The Ministry has not specified how long Grande-Marlaska will remain out of the public schedule, although they have emphasized that his condition is not concerning and he is expected to resume his duties in the coming days.
