The judge investigating the former deputy close to Yolanda Díaz puts him against the ropes
Xabier Ron was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor.
The environment surrounding Yolanda Díaz is making headlines again. This time, it is Xabier Ron, who was a deputy and former colleague of the Second Vice President of the Government in the Galician Parliament between 2012 and 2016.
Let's remember that Ron was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor. It is important to note that Ron taught at a school. More specifically, at IES Breamo, in Pontedeume (La Coruña).
As explained by Okdiario, the judge investigating him has decided that he should no longer teach at the school. This will allow another teacher to be appointed in his place, thus ensuring that students continue with French classes, the subject he taught. Ron is scheduled to appear in court this Thursday.
According to the media, investigators conducted a search at the institute, where they examined at least "four computers." Three of the devices were located in the teachers' lounge, while the fourth was in the school's Language Department.
During the inspection, the Civil Guard's Judicial Police tried to clarify whether these devices were for the exclusive use of Xabier Ron. However, the school's management dismissed this possibility, stating that the computers were available to all teachers.
Meanwhile, the Education Department of the Xunta de Galicia initiated a disciplinary proceeding against Ron, who is already under investigation in the judicial process.
Allegedly, the complaint was filed by the minor's own mother. As a result of this action, a warrant was issued by the Investigating Court number 1 of Santiago de Compostela.
This warrant authorized the search of two residences related to the now teacher, as well as the seizure of his technological equipment, which includes both his mobile phone and his computer. Additionally, searches were also conducted at the aforementioned educational center facilities.
This teacher was a member of the Galician Parliament as a deputy of the Alternativa Galega de Esquerda (AGE) group between 2012 and 2016. Previously, he ran as a candidate for the Mayor of Santiago de Compostela for Izquierda Unida (IU) in the 2007 and 2011 elections.
After leaving active politics, Ron dedicated himself to teaching. First in the institutes of Touro and Ames, both in the province of La Coruña, before being assigned to IES Breamo in Pontedeume.
In Ames, he worked until the last school year. Allegedly, according to the media, he himself requested the transfer to IES Breamo and secured the position through a public competition.
