First Broncano and now RTVE signs Belén Esteban for Sánchez's new "Sálvame"

TVE is preparing to bring a format similar to "Sálvame" to the afternoons on La 1 to compete directly with Ana Rosa

Sánchez aims to further strengthen the public broadcaster RTVE. Radio Televisión Española has taken a significant step in its programming.

Under the direction of José Pablo López, who recently assumed the presidency of the entity, RTVE has adopted a renewed approach to its public television. This new model places a notable emphasis on entertainment, aiming to compete directly with private networks and become the preferred choice for Spanish viewers.

Specifically, against Ana Rosa Quintana and Sonsoles Ónega, who are engaged in a tough battle for leadership, which RTVE now intends to disrupt. To this end, they've signed Belén Esteban, according to VozPópuli.

The challenge won't be easy. The stagnation that public television in Spain has experienced in recent years isn't very positive.

However, in 2024, RTVE managed to reverse this negative trend, and La 1 stood out as the channel that experienced the greatest growth in audience. Obviously, largely due to the incorporation of David Broncano, the controversial host of La Revuelta. Although this surge is attributed to sporting events like the Euro Cup and the Olympic Games.

Belén Esteban will arrive alongside María Patiño and, presumably, other collaborators. Additionally, the management of Radio Televisión Española will place Marc Giró in the afternoons, following his success with Late Xou. However, the dates for when the new project will kick off are still unknown.

The Complaint by Hazte Oír against Broncano and Lalachus

The association Hazte Oír has announced the filing of a complaint against Laura Yustres, known as Lalachús, and David Broncano. Both hosts of the New Year's Eve broadcast on TVE, as well as against the president of the public entity, José Pablo López.

According to the organization, the events that occurred during the broadcast constitute a crime against religious sentiments.

The incident took place on the night of December 31, during the live broadcast from Puerta del Sol, in Madrid.

At one point during the broadcast, Lalachús displayed an image of the Sacred Heart of Jesus with a humorous modification. The image included the calf from the television program Grand Prix.

This gesture has been deemed by Hazte Oír as an unacceptable mockery of the beliefs of millions of Christians in Spain.

Criticism of the public broadcaster and its officials
The association not only directs its criticism toward the comedian but also toward David Broncano, who didn't reproach the gesture during the broadcast.

Additionally, Hazte Oír points to the president of RTVE, José Pablo López, for having publicly applauded the act.

On social media, López posted several images of the broadcast, including the controversial image, joined by the message, "Happy 2025! Happy to work with people who take risks."

Hazte Oír considers that these actions represent a lack of respect toward religious beliefs and question the values promoted by public television.

The association expressed: "What happened last night not only offends Christians but also undermines the principles of respect and tolerance."
