
Elisa Tarazona Receives the 2025 Sanitarias Award for Leadership in the Healthcare Sector

The CEO of the Ribera healthcare group, Elisa Tarazona, has been awarded the 2025 Sanitarias Award, a recognition granted by the digital publication Redacción Médica that highlights the trajectory and leadership of women in the healthcare field.
Tarazona, a doctor of Medicine from the Universitat de València with several master's degrees in healthcare management, assumed the leadership of the Ribera group in 2022 after serving as Chief Operating Officer. Throughout her career, she has held various positions of responsibility, from the Directorate of Primary Care in the La Fe Health Department of Valencia to the Deputy Management of the La Ribera Health Department of Alzira, where she promoted the integration of care between Primary and Specialized Care.
During the award ceremony, Dr. Tarazona emphasized the importance of making female talent visible in the sector and creating role models that inspire other women to take on leadership positions. "Recognitions like this highlight the effort, dedication and talent of so many women who contribute every day to the proper functioning of our healthcare system," she stated. She also highlighted the need to continue advancing in reducing the gender gap and creating a more inclusive and equitable work environment.
The Sanitarias Awards, now in their eighth edition, have previously honored figures such as researchers Margarita Salas and Margarita del Val, the former global president of pharmacists Carmen Peña, the director of the Spanish Agency of Medicines and Health Products, María Jesús Lamas, and former Health Ministers Ana Pastor and María Luisa Carcedo.
