
Castellón's Provincial Council Strengthens Its Support for Vinaròs Carnival
Vinaròs Carnival is not only a cultural event, but also an important economic driver for the municipality and its surroundings.
The Provincial Council of Castellón has reaffirmed its commitment to local culture and traditions by increasing its financial contribution to the Vinaròs Carnival, one of the province's most emblematic festivals and declared of Regional Tourist Interest. The Governing Board has approved a collaboration agreement with the Vinaròs Carnival Organizing Committee, which will allocate a subsidy of 28,000 euros to the celebration of this event, representing an increase of 4,000 euros compared to the previous year.
The Culture Deputy, Alejandro Clausell, has highlighted that this aid is a demonstration of the provincial institution's determined support for local festivals: “With this financial aid we reaffirm our commitment to preserving the culture and traditions of our municipalities. Because the Vinaròs Carnival is culture, identity and emotion, and it deserves all the support to continue growing.”
Accompanied by the Vice President of the Council and head of the Tourism area, Andrés Martínez, Clausell has visited the Carnival preparations and has valued the effort of the residents and comparseros who work throughout the year to make this celebration a festive and cultural reference in the Valencian Community.
An Economic and Tourist Boost for the Region
The Vinaròs Carnival is not only a cultural event but also an important economic engine for the municipality and its surroundings. Andrés Martínez has emphasized that “edition after edition, the Carnival becomes a great attraction for tourists and visitors, which contributes to the economic dynamism of the area.”
The Council has assured that it will continue to support these types of events that strengthen the province's identity and encourage citizen participation. Clausell has stressed that the Vinaròs Carnival is “a unique celebration, open to all citizens, and from the provincial government we will continue to support one of the most emblematic festivities of the Mediterranean.”
