Carrasco Promotes the Construction of 1,000 Homes and a New Urban Park in Censal

The Local Government Board of the Castellón City Council has approved the processing of the Partial Plan for the SR-Censal Sector, which will allow the construction of 1,000 new homes on an area of 37 acres (150,000 m²).

The spokesperson councilor, Vicent Sales, highlighted the importance of this development to improve the housing supply in the city, especially in a context where access to housing is one of the main social concerns.

In addition to residential urbanization, the plan includes the creation of a new urban park of 10 acres (40,000 m²) between the ring road and Fernando el Católico Street. Sales noted that this green area will be a key space for the recreation and well-being of the residents of the eastern district of Castellón.

New Employment Workshops to Improve Job Insertion

The Government Board has also given the green light to three new employment workshops: Employment Workshop 16, Castellón Workshop School 1, and Castellón Insert Action 1. These programs will have funding of 2 million euros through Labora and will benefit 108 people with training in masonry, electricity, ceramics, agriculture, carpentry, and plumbing, improving their job opportunities.

Extension of the Home Help Service

Another agreement adopted is the extension of the Home Help Service until March 2026, with an investment of 1,575,861 euros. Currently, this service assists more than 180 people, facilitating tasks such as cleaning, meal preparation, shopping, and support in mobility and personal hygiene.

Hàbitat Artístic Scholarships

Finally, the bases of the Hàbitat Artístic Scholarships have been approved, with an endowment of 35,400 euros for six artistic projects. Four residencies will be developed in La Rectoria (Barcelona) and two in GlogauAir (Berlin), promoting the international projection of Castellón artists.
