Badenas Requests €984,352 to Hire Unemployed in Recovery After the Dana

This aid, regulated by Royal Decree 1282/2024, aims to hire unemployed people, primarily young individuals

The Valencia City Council, through the Deputy Mayor of VOX, Juanma Badenas, has requested a subsidy of €984,352.74 from the Ministry of Labor and Social Economy. This aid, regulated by Royal Decree 1282/2024, aims to hire unemployed people to carry out works and services aimed at the recovery of municipalities affected by the DANA.

The council has worked on the preparation and submission of the required documentation to access these funds, including the necessary technical and personnel reports. The motion for initiative was signed on February 13, and the administrative process was completed with the final resolution on February 18.

With this initiative, the City Council seeks to address the reconstruction of infrastructure damaged by the storm while generating new employment opportunities for unemployed Valencians. The proposal responds to the need to expedite the recovery of affected areas, ensuring that public intervention has a positive impact on both the local economy and the quality of life of citizens.

The project includes hiring workers to carry out repair and conditioning work in the most affected municipalities. This includes the improvement of public roads, municipal infrastructure, and natural spaces damaged by the storm. Additionally, it aims to boost the recovery of the social and economic fabric of the affected areas, promoting the reactivation of employment in sectors linked to construction, urban maintenance, and environmental rehabilitation.

Badenas has emphasized the importance of this measure, highlighting that the City Council will continue to seek new funding avenues to ensure an effective response to the city's needs after the damage caused by the DANA. He has also insisted on the relevance of collaboration between administrations to achieve a faster and more effective recovery.

This subsidy request is part of the municipal strategy to address the effects of the storm, betting on job creation as an essential axis of recovery.
