Ayuso defends her partner and denounces media campaign against her
The president has emphasized that the businesses under investigation date back to periods prior to her relationship with González Amador.
From Fitur, on Madrid Day, Isabel Díaz Ayuso has assured that her partner "is neither a public official nor lives in official facilities."
The president has emphasized that the businesses under investigation date back to periods before her relationship with González Amador.
Díaz Ayuso stated that she has never intervened in her partner's activities nor used her position to benefit him in any way.
The Madrid Assembly's Board rejected Más Madrid's request for González Amador to appear in the regional Chamber.
The president considers that this request aims to generate media noise with the sole objective of damaging her political image.
Ayuso has explained that the investigation focuses on a tax inspection related to two invoices unrelated to the Community of Madrid.
Despite the criticisms, Ayuso assured that there is no evidence linking her to her partner's questioned businesses.
"What they seek is to harm me personally because they have no arguments to attack my management as president," Ayuso noted.
The president also denounced what she describes as an "unprecedented media campaign" led from high levels of the Government.
The Government's Operation
According to Ayuso, this operation includes prosecutors, ministers, the Government Delegation, and media outlets aligned with the central Executive.
Regarding her partner, Díaz Ayuso defended that "his only sin is maintaining a romantic relationship with a politician opposed to the president."
She justified that the Madrid Assembly is not the appropriate space to debate the situation of a private citizen like González Amador.
She rejected having used her influence over judges, prosecutors, or officials for personal gain or to the detriment of political adversaries.
Meanwhile, Judge Inmaculada Iglesias has postponed for the fourth time the declaration of González Amador, scheduled for February 7.
González Amador's defense requested the postponement due to the businessman's and his lawyer's prior professional commitments.
The businessman is being investigated for alleged crimes of tax fraud and document forgery between the years 2020 and 2021.
The Tax Agency estimates that González Amador may have defrauded 350,910 euros through the use of false invoices and shell companies.
Additionally, a possible corruption case related to the Quirón Group and an alleged covert payment as a commission is being investigated.
González Amador's defense denounced irregularities in the process and requested an investigation into possible leaks to the media.
They have also asked the Supreme Court for access to the State Attorney General's email to clarify communications related to the case.
Ayuso lamented that her partner is being publicly exposed, a citizen who has no public responsibilities or political ties.
The president stated that this situation seeks to divert attention from her government's achievements in Madrid and erode her reputation.
She insisted that the investigation is not related to her management at the head of the Community of Madrid nor to regional public resources.
Despite the accusations, Ayuso reaffirmed her support for González Amador and called for a transparent and fair process to be ensured.
She denounced that the objective of this "State operation" is to prevent her from continuing to be a relevant figure in national politics.
