Why Are They Reopening the Investigation Into the Death of Mango's Founder?
They reopen the investigation into the death of Mango's founder, Isak Andic.
The Court of First Instance and Instruction Number 5 of Martorell (Barcelona) has decided to reopen the investigation into the death of Isak Andic. He was the founder of the fashion brand Mango, who passed away two months ago after falling from a 492 ft. (150 meters) drop while hiking in Collbató (Barcelona).
According to the Superior Court of Justice of Catalonia, the decision has been made with the aim of clarifying the circumstances under which the businessman's death occurred. Although no additional details have been provided, it is expected that the new proceedings will allow the investigation to be completed and solve any doubts about the incident.

The Mossos d'Esquadra, in charge of the case, have maintained from the beginning the hypothesis of an accidental death. However, to definitively close the report, they have carried out various actions.
Among them is the analysis of Andic's mobile phone. It was located the day after the accident, and statements were taken from several witnesses present in the area at the time of the incident. Among those questioned is his son, Jonathan Andic, who was joining him during the hike.
The accident took place on December 14 at midday. Andic, 70 years old, slipped while walking on a trail and fell into the void. His son immediately alerted emergency services by calling 112 shortly before 1:00 p.m.
Despite the rapid mobilization of rescue teams, he could not be saved. The mobilization included citizen security patrols, mountain units of the Mossos d'Esquadra, and other services, but nothing could be done to save his life.
Initially, the Mossos took statements from Jonathan Andic and several witnesses. In addition to conducting inspections in the area where the tragedy occurred. However, a month ago, the court decided to close the investigation due to judicial time constraints.
Now, the case has been reopened to analyze the reports submitted by the police, review the statements, and compare the information with the inspection of the terrain, in search of possible contradictions.
Additionally, the Mossos found the businessman's mobile phone, which was completely destroyed by the fall. This finding could provide key data about Andic's last moments before the accident.
The reopening of the investigation seeks to clear up any uncertainties and confirm whether it was indeed a tragic accident or if there are other factors that should be considered.
