Anabel Pantoja, niece of Isabel Pantoja and a regular face in the gossip press, has appeared in court alongside her partner, David Rodríguez. Both have been investigated for an alleged crime of negligent injury to their baby, born on November 23. This information has been published by the newspaper Canarias 7 and confirmed by the Superior Court of Justice of the Canary Islands (TSJC).

The little girl has been hospitalized at the Maternal and Child Hospital of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria between January 11 and 27, this situation has caused great media attention. The Investigating Court number 3 of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria has opened preliminary proceedings on January 21. Both Anabel Pantoja and David Rodríguez have been considered alleged perpetrators of a child abuse crime.

The procedure has begun following a report from the Maternal and Child Hospital dated January 17. This document has alerted to the possible existence of injuries in the baby.

Anabel Pantoja has had to go before the judge twice

Subsequently, the Institute of Legal Medicine of Las Palmas has confirmed these indications. Based on these reports, the court specialized in violence against children and adolescents has initiated the investigation.

The justice system has summoned the investigated parties last Monday, January 27. Both have given statements before the judicial authority, as investigated parties and with legal assistance.

According to the TSJC, the investigation seeks to clarify the causes and mechanism of the injuries detected in the baby. All this with the aim of protecting the minor and ensuring her well-being.

At no time has the couple been detained. Nor have precautionary measures been applied to them or the custody of the baby. After taking their statements, the court has decided to transfer the case to the judicial district of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, where the episode allegedly occurred.
