Tornado forecast for the US: 3 states at highest risk in the coming hours, stay alert
Adverse weather will affect large areas of the United States, with a significant risk of tornado formation
The southern United States is preparing for a day of severe weather conditions. According to experts, storms and tornadoes are continuing in some parts of the country. All of this is the result of a turbulent spring that is giving little respite to those who love tranquility.
In this regard, the Storm Prediction Center has issued a risk alert for severe storms in south-central Texas. In this area, there is a possibility of large hail, damaging wind gusts, and even isolated tornadoes. Specifically, south-central Texas is in the area with the highest risk of severe conditions overnight.
Satellite images show a low-pressure system slowly moving across the Great Plains. This is favoring the formation of multiple intense thunderstorms. In the region known as Hill Country, in the heart of Texas, several deep convective systems have already formed.

Experts Warn of the Arrival of Strong Winds and Hail
These storm structures have produced very large hail and represent the greatest risk in these early hours. At least half a dozen updrafts capable of generating significant hail have been identified, a clear sign of destructive potential. These conditions suggest that the storms will not only continue over the next few hours, but they could also organize overnight.
An increase in the low-level jet along the middle Texas coast is expected to drive this system eastward, intensifying it as it moves. This could result in widespread damaging winds in populated areas, increasing the danger during the early morning hours. Beyond Texas, there is a risk of storms in the Texas Panhandle, western Oklahoma, and the Mississippi Valley.

Storms That Will Last Several Hours
Not forgetting parts of Louisiana and Mississippi. Although these areas do not face the same level of risk as south-central Texas, they could experience storms with hail and strong wind gusts. In the case of the Panhandle and Oklahoma, the forecast shows enough intensity to keep storm activity going for several more hours.
However, nighttime cooling is expected to reduce the intensity of the updrafts, limiting the severe potential in those regions toward the early morning. In light of this situation, meteorological authorities recommend paying close attention to local advisories and warnings. Especially in Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana, the three states at greatest risk.
