BBVA has made a move that has surprised the financial and business sector. The banking entity has climbed positions to rank third in the Kantar BrandZ Top 30 of the most valuable Spanish brands.

This achievement is due to an impressive 39% growth in its brand value, reaching $11.35 billion. This progress reflects the banking entity's solid strategy to strengthen its presence and differentiation in the competitive world of traditional banking.

BBVA Breaks Into the Podium of Spain's Most Valuable Brands

The Spanish market has experienced a historic moment with the publication of the Kantar BrandZ Top 30 report, which analyzes the country's most valuable brands. In the latest edition, BBVA has achieved an unexpected feat by positioning itself for the first time in the third place of the ranking.

The report reveals that the top 30 Spanish brands have reached an unprecedented combined value of $115.589 billion, a 15% increase in one year. This growth surpasses that of other European markets, such as Italy and the United Kingdom. Meanwhile, it highlights that two-thirds of the brands in the Spanish ranking have increased their value in the last year.

Zara and Movistar Lead the Ranking

However, not only BBVA can be pleased. Other Spanish brands have managed to secure the podium of this ranking. We are talking about Zara and Movistar, which have occupied the top positions in this report for some time.

Amancio Ortega's firm remains the most valuable Spanish brand in 2025, with a value of $33.947 billion. It is followed by Movistar, which retains its second position with a value of $12.619 billion. 

The fashion and banking sectors continue to be the pillars of the ranking, representing almost two-thirds (63%) of the total value of the Top 30. Inditex, Zara's parent company, dominates the fashion category with five fast-growing brands: Zara, Massimo Dutti, Pull&Bear, Bershka, and Stradivarius.

Massimo Dutti stands out as the brand with the highest growth this year, with a 50% increase in its brand value. It is followed by CaixaBank, in the eighth position with $3.431 billion and a 46% increase. Meanwhile, Banco Sabadell, in the 20th place with $659 million and a 46% growth.

This year, two brands have re-entered the Top 30. Seat, in the 28th position with $373 million, and the hotel chain Meliá, in the 30th place with $340 million. Meliá has capitalized on the renewed desire to travel by offering options ranging from Caribbean top-level to urban sophistication, attracting a wide spectrum of customers.
