The royal family isn't hiding it anymore: no one expected what happened with Infanta Sofía
The big news about Infanta Sofía has been confirmed, which has surprised all followers of the Royal Family
The Royal Family has broken their silence and, although with the discretion that has always characterized them, they have hinted at news that has surprised many people. Infanta Sofía will not take the EBAU. At just 18 years old, Infanta Sofía has completed her studies at the prestigious UWC Atlantic College in Wales.
Many high school students face the big question of "What now?" after finishing their studies. But in Sofía's case, the path seems clearer than previously thought.

Although there was speculation about possible military training similar to that of her sister, Princess Leonor, that option has ultimately been ruled out. Sofía wants to pursue university studies, and all indications are that it will be in Spain, starting next September.
Infanta Sofía, Member of the Royal Family, Will Not Have to Take an Exam to Enter University
However, what has caused the most stir is that, unlike most young people her age, Sofía will not have to take the EBAU. This is the exam that determines university admission in our country. The reason? The International Baccalaureate program she completed allows her direct access to both Spanish and foreign universities.
As is the case with all students who follow this educational program, her grades will be validated by the National University of Distance Education (UNED). This university will convert her academic record into a valid admission grade.

It is important to note that this privilege has nothing to do with her status as a member of the Royal Family. Any student with the International Baccalaureate can take advantage of this route.
However, if Sofía wanted to apply for a university degree with an especially high cutoff grade, she would have the option to take the EBAU. She would do this to improve her score. But, for now, everything suggests that it will not be necessary.
The Royal Family Has Not Confirmed Which Degree Infanta Sofía Will Pursue
It is still unknown which degree she will choose and at which university she will continue her studies, although it would not be surprising if she followed in her parents' footsteps.

Felipe studied law at the Autonomous University of Madrid, while Letizia studied journalism at the Complutense.
What is certain is that Infanta Sofía, described by those around her as an enthusiastic, curious, independent, and diligent young woman, has a promising future ahead. With this surprising news, the infanta is once again making headlines and making it clear that her institutional role will continue to grow, but without neglecting her academic and personal development.
