The young heiress has begun to show a closeness that connects with people, and her profile continues to grow both inside and outside Spain.
In her latest appearances, Leonor has reinforced that image of commitment to institutions and to the various communities of the country, especially in Galicia. Her recent visit has made it clear that the young princess has a strong bond with the region.

Galicia's gold medal
This Tuesday, the Princess of Asturias received Galicia's gold medal, the community's highest honor, at a ceremony held at Pazo de Raxoi. In her speech, Leonor spoke in Galician and Spanish, highlighting her experience in Galicia and her time at the Marín Naval School. "I would like to be able to convey what it has meant for me to feel Galicia," she said with emotion.
The princess also had a special gesture for her fellow graduates, the 75 midshipmen with whom she shared her training. She even mentioned the "furanchos," a nod that brought smiles to those present.
For Leonor, Galicia is not only a land of great beauty but also a place of warmth and generosity. "The medal speaks of the 'bos e xenerosos,' and there's no better way to describe the people of this land," she stated. Leonor, paraphrasing the group Los limones de Ferrol, expressed: "Here is my home, where the sea ends."

The recognition from Xunta and popular support
Alfonso Rueda, president of Xunta, highlighted the privilege of presenting the medal to Leonor, emphasizing respect for the Galician language and culture. "It's a beautiful language and compatible with our condition as Spaniards and Europeans," Rueda said. He also highlighted the importance of Galician self-government and expressed his support for a system that promotes political and social stability.
Rueda took the opportunity to point out that public representatives must work for everyone, regardless of ideology. "We focus on what truly matters," the president stated.
After the medal ceremony, Leonor will also receive the title of adopted daughter of Marín. The event will continue with the presentation of royal commissions to the midshipmen. King Felipe VI, Queen Letizia, and Infanta Sofía will attend the event, reaffirming the royal family's commitment to Galicia.
