Pilar Eyre, expert on the royal house, gives important news about Leonor's life.
The well-known journalist has defended the princess by truly revealing what her day-to-day life is like
Princess Leonor has been the subject of multiple comments in recent months, especially since she embarked on the training ship Juan Sebastián Elcano as part of her military training. Many have speculated about the supposed comfortable life of the heir to the throne, based on images and moments captured during her stops. However, journalist and writer Pilar Eyre, a recognized expert on the Royal House, has decided to defend the young woman.
She has done so by unraveling the reality of her day-to-day life and dismantling the idyllic vision some have of her life. This has been her way of helping people empathize with the princess's situation.

Pilar Eyre reveals the reality about Leonor's current life
Last January was when Leonor embarked on the training ship Juan Sebastián Elcano to continue her military training. Since then, there has been talk of the comfortable life she leads. She has also been put in the spotlight for her bikini photos, during the free time allowed to her and her companions.
In light of this situation, Royal House expert Pilar Eyre has decided to speak out clearly about the princess. She has done so to try to get people to empathize with Letizia's daughter, as not everything is as idyllic as it seems.
Thus, in the blog she has in the magazine Lecturas, the journalist has spoken out forcefully. She has written: “When most girls her age are enjoying their entry into adult life, traveling with their friends as backpackers, going to nightclubs, dancing on the beach on full moon nights, or kissing a boy as if the world didn't exist, Leonor has to live with 76 unknown companions. Yes, in an unfamiliar environment, since we had never seen her navigate before, and separated from everyone, family, friends, country, wanderings, and amusements.”

To which she added: “Of course, she has a work schedule and rest hours. But all of this within the 371 ft. (113 meters) length of the Juan Sebastián Elcano, always seeing the same faces. Except during the stops she has made in Brazil, Uruguay, Chile, Peru, and now Panama.”
“And here is where the problems have come, in those scarce periods of freedom in which she has tried to behave like a 19-year-old girl. We have bombarded her with photos and comments, as if she were a libertine.”
Pilar Eyre talks about the unfair criticism and media pressure on Leonor
Pilar Eyre has even tried to make all her readers reflect by putting more facts about the princess on the table. She has said: “No one has talked about her behavior on board fulfilling her tough duties as a midshipman, but we reproach her for that beer she had in Brazil. And her bikini images in Chile.”
“And we speculate about whether that handsome boy we often see by her side is her boyfriend. And on social media, they read her lips and claim that shortly before disembarking she said looking at the sky: ‘Damn, the fucking cloud.’”

Eyre has questioned these criticisms. She has done so by posing several questions: “Don't we all swear? Isn't it normal at this age to fall in love and enjoy going out?”
These words from the writer also reflect her understanding of Leonor. And also her concern for the lack of freedom that her position in the Royal House implies. She even invites everyone to empathize with a young woman who, despite her privileged position, faces challenges and sacrifices.
