The Photo of Prince William That Has Outraged Queen Camilla and Charles III
An Unexpected Gesture from William That Generates Surprise and Divides Opinions in the British Royal Family
Charles III and Camilla, as central figures of the British royal family, know they are watched in every public act. Prince William, as a key figure in the future of the monarchy, is no exception. His steps are closely followed by both experts and millions of followers worldwide.
At Pope Francis's funeral, William was the protagonist of a very important moment in his formation as a future king. However, a small gesture ended up capturing more attention than desired. What was supposed to be a day of impeccable representation opened an unexpected debate.

Charles III and Camilla's Reaction: The Wardrobe Choice That Surprises
William attended Pope Francis's funeral wearing a navy blue suit. This choice caused an intense debate among social media users and protocol specialists. For some, black should have been the only acceptable color.
On X, several comments showed surprise and even annoyance. "Blue suits bother me. Isn't there a standard for black suits?" wrote one user. Another was more direct: "Blue suit? What a lack of respect!"
In favor of the prince, Hello! editor Nichola Murphy clarified that navy blue is also suitable for solemn events. "Black has been associated with funerals, but it's not the only acceptable color," she explained. She even recalled that Prince George wore blue at Queen Elizabeth II's funeral.

A Comparison That Didn't Favor William
Prince William wasn't the only one criticized for his attire in Rome. Donald Trump also attended the funeral in a blue suit, generating similar comments. Some internet users saw his outfit as a lack of respect for the solemnity of the event.
Meanwhile, King Felipe VI of Spain was praised for his impeccable presence. Jack Schlossberg, grandson of John F Kennedy, highlighted his elegance on Instagram: "A very nice suit, the one of the King of Spain." Felipe VI wore a classic black suit and a sober tie.
Regarding protocol, the Vatican recommends dark colors but doesn't prohibit other formal tones like navy blue. Even so, for many, the occasion deserved a more traditional choice. This perception might have caused some discomfort in Buckingham.
Although for some it was a minor detail, sources claim that Camilla and Charles III didn't look favorably on the choice. Royalty must adhere to protocol because even the choice of a color can generate international echo. William, increasingly visible, knows this better than anyone.
