Official Statement from CaixaBank to These Spaniards: You're Going to Notice It Right Away
CaixaBank reinforces its commitment to financial inclusion in Spain
CaixaBank is one of the most important banking entities in Spain, with a wide presence throughout the national territory. Over the years, the bank has focused on digitalization and modernization of its services to improve the experience. However, it has also maintained its commitment to those areas where access to a bank branch is more complicated.
The disappearance of branches in small municipalities has been a growing problem in recent years. Many localities, especially in rural areas, have seen bank branches close. Their inhabitants were left without access to basic financial services.

CaixaBank expands its mobile office service in Ávila
This has affected, above all, older people who are not familiar with digital banking. CaixaBank has worked to alleviate this situation. It has already implemented innovative solutions to ensure financial inclusion throughout Spain.
Within this commitment, the entity has announced a significant expansion of its mobile office service in the province of Ávila. Thanks to an agreement with the Provincial Council of Ávila, CaixaBank will bring these services to more than 220 localities. This initiative makes Ávila the first province in Castilla y León to ensure that all its municipalities have access to banking services.
Ávila, the first province with full financial inclusion
The new service expansion was officially presented at an event held in front of the headquarters of the Provincial Council of Ávila. The event was attended by the territorial director of CaixaBank in Castilla y León, Gerardo Cuartero, and the president of the Provincial Council of Ávila, Carlos García.

Alongside them were the Business Area directors of CaixaBank in Ávila, José Ángel Torres and Ángel Alcalde. Both highlighted the importance of this project to ensure that no municipality in the province is left without access to banking services.
This agreement between CaixaBank and the Provincial Council allows the extension of banking coverage to 220 localities. This benefits about 32,800 people, who previously had difficulties accessing these services. It is a pioneering initiative in Castilla y León and an essential step in the fight against financial exclusion in Spain.
A great growth in CaixaBank's mobile office routes
Since January 2, CaixaBank has significantly increased its network of mobile offices in the province. In the last year, the service has grown from 127 to 220 municipalities, representing a 73% increase in coverage. To achieve this, the entity has incorporated three new mobile offices that will travel approximately 6,835 miles (11,000 kilometers) per month in the province of Ávila.

The mobile offices, known as ofimóviles, offer users the possibility to carry out the most common banking operations. Both clients and non-clients of the entity can go to these points to withdraw cash, make deposits, pay bills, or pay taxes.
One of the most relevant data is that 70% of the users who use these mobile offices are over 65 years old. This shows that in-person access remains essential for a significant part of the population. Especially for those who are not accustomed to digital banking.
CaixaBank and its commitment to rural banking
The expansion of the service in Ávila is part of a broader CaixaBank project to ensure financial inclusion in Spain. The entity already offers similar services in more than 1,000 small localities. Something that benefits approximately 490,000 people in 16 provinces and seven autonomous communities.

Castilla y León is one of the communities most benefited by this program, being the region with the largest number of municipalities served by mobile offices. CaixaBank continues to work to expand its reach and ensure that all people, regardless of where they live, can access quality banking services.
