Official: This Is the Nostradamus Prophecy That Frightens After Pope Francis's Funeral
After the Massive Farewell to Pope Francis, a Disturbing Prediction by Nostradamus Resurfaces, Speaking of a 'Black Pope' and the End of the World
The death of Pope Francis has shocked the entire world. At 88 years old and due to a stroke, the pontiff left a legacy marked by humility and the defense of the underprivileged. His funeral, held today, Saturday, April 26, in St. Peter's Square, was a reflection of his simple and approachable life.
The ceremony brought together more than 200,000 people, including faithful, world leaders, and representatives of various religions. Presided over by Cardinal Giovanni Battista Re, it began at 10:00 a.m. and extended until 2:00 p.m. Subsequently, Pope Francis will be buried in the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, in a historic gesture of simplicity.

The coffin, simple and wooden, bore only the open Gospel on it. After the mass, it was transported in the popemobile through the streets of Rome, escorted by thousands of faithful. In the basilica, his tomb was marked only with the word "Franciscus" and his pectoral cross.
From the very moment of the funeral, social media began to revive old prophecies. As is customary in historical moments, Nostradamus's predictions have returned to the scene. This time, some believe they see an unsettling connection with the recent death of Pope Francis.

Nostradamus's Prophecies Raise Alarms After Pope Francis's Funeral
Nostradamus, the 16th-century French apothecary and seer, published his book Les Prophéties in 1555. In it, he collected 942 poetic quatrains that, according to many, anticipated major historical events. His cryptic and ambiguous style has led to multiple interpretations over the centuries.
One of the most discussed visions these days mentions the arrival of a "Black Pope." According to the most widespread interpretation, there would be a sequence of three popes: a foreigner (Benedict XVI), an old man (Francis), and finally, a pontiff with dark skin. This last one would supposedly mark the beginning of the Apocalypse.
A much-cited verse says: "The Roman pontiff will not be elected, neither near nor far will he be heeded." And it continues: "A young man with dark skin with the help of the great king will hand the purse to another of red color." The metaphor has fueled theories about the end of the world and the Final Judgment.
Some take this prediction literally and expect the election of a black pope. Others, however, link the term "Black Pope" to the Jesuits' cassock, the order to which Francis belonged. There is also speculation about the possible destruction of Rome, the "City of Seven Hills."
Meanwhile, there are those who claim that Francis would have been the last pope. They rely on an ancient Vatican manuscript that supposedly indicates that after his death only the words "Final Judgment" will remain. The prophecy of Saint Malachy reinforces this thesis by speaking of a great change in the Church.
In fact, there are those who interpret Francis's gestures as signs of that change. Signing documents in Italian instead of Latin or calling himself "Bishop of Rome" are cited as examples. Additionally, there is also the existence of a painting in the Basilica of St. Paul, where there is only space for one more pope after the now-deceased Pope Francis.
Among the names mentioned to succeed Pope Francis are Peter Turkson from Ghana and Robert Sarah from Guinea. Both African prelates would give literal meaning to the "Black Pope" prophecy. If confirmed, theories about the end of the world would regain strength.
