Meghan Markle reportedly spoke with Prince Harry: the truth about her father

In his appearance on Royal Exclusive from The Sun, writer Hugo Vickers offered an analysis of the reasons behind the estrangement between Meghan and her father, Thomas Markle. According to Vickers, there are three possible explanations for this complicated family bond.

The first reason Vickers mentions is that Meghan might feel embarrassed by her father, which made it difficult to introduce him to Harry. This theory, though painful, is suggested as one of the reasons why Meghan chose to keep him out of her life with the prince.

The second possibility is that Meghan believed her father had done something inappropriate in the past, which led her to decide to keep him away. An example of this tension occurred when Harry asked Thomas for permission to marry Meghan. His response, "you can marry her as long as you never raise your hand against her," raised suspicions about their relationship.

The irreparable estrangement

This estrangement intensified before Meghan and Harry's wedding, when Thomas Markle sold photos to the paparazzi. Meghan never forgave that betrayal and her relationship with him broke down. In an interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021, Meghan said with sadness, "I lost my father," highlighting the pain caused by her father.
