He stated that the oceans face three main threats: rising sea temperatures, plastic pollution, and overfishing. "What once seemed like an abundant resource is diminishing before our eyes," he warned, insisting that we are all responsible for the situation.

Royal commitment to nature

Beyond his words, the prince has been taking concrete actions to address this issue. Among his most notable initiatives are the Earthshot Prizes, which award one million pounds annually to innovations that solve environmental problems. "Humanity has the necessary tools," William said, acknowledging that "the brilliant minds behind these inspiring solutions can't do it alone."

Additionally, in his docuseries, Guardians, William highlights the valuable work of rangers, who risk their lives to protect endangered species. "One of the most dangerous jobs on the planet," William declared, emphasizing the commitment of those who fight to preserve biodiversity.

Although his family's health has been a constant concern, William remains steadfast in his fight for a healthier planet. In his speech in Monaco, he recalled the commitments reached at the 2022 Biodiversity Summit. They seek to protect 30% of the Earth and the oceans by 2030; with this ambition, William continues to strive for a sustainable future.
